America’s Safest Cities 2007
The results of CQ Press’s 14th annual Safest City Award rankings are in — and a new city has taken the top spot.
After a ten-year wait, this southern California city has at last achieved the honor of America’s Safest City. See which one it is and see which other 24 cities earned top honors this year.
No. 1:
Mission Viejo, Calif.
Mission Viejo reports no murders for 2006, boasts the nation’s lowest rape rate, and has the third-lowest aggravated assault, violent crime, and property crime rates among cities with populations of 75,000 or more.
